Measure the space
Plan for about 10 feet of width and 20 to 25 feet of length for a 20-yard container, plus overhead clearance of about 23 feet for unloading.
Protect the surface
Ask for wood boards under the rails to distribute weight on concrete or pavers.
Clear the path
Move vehicles, trim low branches and mark sprinkler heads before delivery day.
Think about access
Place the dumpster close to the work area but where it will not block neighbors or emergency access.
